Downsizing my automobile collection and selling this 1968 Chrysler Newport Convertible with the rare "Sportgrain" option. The Sportgrain option was only offered in 1968 of which only 174 were produced. The car was purchased from a MoPar collector in Arkansas about 2 years ago after his death. The car has only 36,600 original miles, but due to sitting in a barn for so long the engine became stuck. Upon purchasing the car I had the original engine removed and purchased from a friend another 1968 date coded 383. I had this engine rebuilt along with the alternator, brake system, fuel system, and exhaust system. The original 383 engine which is complete with heads and manifolds is included in the sale. The car runs and shifts perfectly. The options include: Sportgrain Sides, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Tinted Glass, Searchtune AM/FM Radio, Electric Antennae, and the New Yorker Tail-light Option. The top is factory original and has a few wear spots from folding. The interior is all original and in good condition. The black carpet is worn and should be replaced. There is only one 3" rust spot on the floor pan. The rest of the floor pan is rust-free as well as the trunk and frame sections. The car is very straight and only has a couple small dings in the body. I have both fender skirts which are in very nice condition. The previous owner had a hood ornament mounted on the hood which would need to be repaired. The paint is fair to poor and should be repainted. I have paperwork dating back to when the previous owner purchased the car on Nov. 25, 1970 from Auto Village in Feasterville, PA. I have an open title from the state of Arkansas signed by the previous owner's wife, owners manual, shop manual, and all receipts for the engine work, exhaust parts, complete brake rebuild, new gas tank, brake booster, etc. The car is currently in storage and these pictures were from last year. I should be able to take additional pictures later this week including the engine compartment, trunk, and undercarriage.
