I don't know.
Hubcaps = blackwall
Wheel covers = whitwall
Aftermarket = White letter or blackwall

Agree with you there. And the whitewalls need to be the correct size so as to be period correct. It's got 15" so finding them is way easier than if it was originally shod with 14's.

unfortunatly it is not easy.
The correct two stripe WW bias ply tires from Goodyear for 69 cars are not available as reproduction

I think I can speak for more than a few people here that when you love, buy, and drive a certain year classic car, you are doing so to CAPTURE that era and preserve it
I'm not trying to "CAPTURE" an era at all. That's ridiculous. The past is the past. It is gone.....FOREVER. No item that you try to cling to hoping to fend off the future, will bring the past back. It's just not happening.

So all of us out there who try to restore a Victory ship, a Vietnam gunboat, a WWII historic aircraft carrier or battleship are simply wasting our time as that is in the past and it is over.

Really sounds like the appreciation of history and all that it entails has passed right over your head. A shame as I got to listen to a talk by a sailor/author from CV-8 and was on the flight deck during the Doolittle launch.

You realize you are trying to equate cars with or without useless white stripes on the tires to Viet nam gunboats and WWII battleships...seriously.

You know all this is because you said you liked the blackwalls, right??

I know, Stan. You ought to know by now I don't run with herd for the sake of running with the herd. That's easy to do, which is why I'm not like the others. Few understand that, most never will.

I'm not even sure Gary how you keep your feet firmly planted on the ground you stand on...
whitewalls of course!

I can't dissagree more Gary ..... The past is NOT gone, It's alive and well in our pursuit of the future ....... We learn from the past, and are able to pull the best memories and pleasures from our induvidual past's as direction for the future. Nolstaga is a very powerful emotion and our old cars, as we relate to them back in the day, is a tool to fuel the emotion.

I'm sorry you seem to have missed out on something special.......

Apologies excepted. I dislike whitewalls almost as much as cars with wings, but too tired to battle with you or anyone else over it today.

Every time one of my cats knock over one of my Mission lamps, the shade has to go into the trash. Should I put on the fabric one, which won't break??
Every time? How many times have there been? If my cat knocked over a Stickley lamp, he'd go find the glue and hope I don't notice, because he'd be going to the pound. There would be no second time.

My youngest son interviewed for a job at Stickley.

Let's put it this way.... the Stickley family apparently wasn't too fussy with who their kids married. Their offspring is now in charge of the place....

Their family was in charge of the place. It got bought out by another family, who had been closely associated with the business before.

But still cool story. Your son's a woodworker?

I had my Living Room Set made to my specs by Stickley in 1989.
I had a heart attack when the bill was added up. I could have bought a car.
I still have the set. My wife and the Stickley were the only things that needed to come to FL.
Everything else was optional. 99% of everything else didn't make the cut.

You are correct. I meant to say "Audi". They are the family that owns Stickley now. The son, I think his name is Edward, is a real flake. He interviewed my son and he said this guy was off the wall. He bought him back for 3 more interviews, each time he asked some really inappropriate questions.

The job he was interviewing for wasn't some high level position where multiple interviews need to happen.

He's not a woodworker, he just needed a job after his pizza shop (My sons owned a pizza shop for a while) went under. His stepbrother (ex wife's step son) is a foreman there and said they were hiring.

He was offered a job... but with no experience, he wouldn't exactly get a great job to begin with. He was told they liked him and he would be the only English speaking employee in that department. There's a red flag if I ever saw one. The machine he would be running was known for maiming employees regularly. Everyone that ran it in the past couple years had lost at least one finger. Another red flag. His stepbrother said to walk away... It wasn't worth it.

Fortunately for him, another job came through at a Medical manufacturer where English and safety are common.

Where's my checkbook, anybody want a CHP car? Just kidding, this car has my name all over it. If I wasn't into CHP cars this would be the C-Body for me, ok maybe with WW tires.
