I like the wheels.
I love the colour. But not on anything pre 1970

I think the color works well as does the tires & wheels combo on this one. ,:cheers2:

Concur completely Carsten .. just like wheels. Only the ones that were available when it comes to factory options. Don't put late model wheels on early cars and vice versa

A "C"-body looks dead wrong in purple, period. I hate high-impact colors on cars that did not have them as a factory option, regardless of year or body. Nice car, otherwise.

A local guy had a '66 Coronet 500 in OKC years ago that was painted in Sassy Grass Green with '70 Rallyes and '71 Dart high-back buckets...oh, and '70 Coronet R/T hood scoops, too. Just wrong. Like a monkey fu*king a bunny, some things "just ain't right!"

Wrong by opinion......A C body could be had in purple....in 70. This car pulls it off well. The year differential is silly because it didnt come that way, or wasnt available. .... Following that logic the coupe in American Graffiti is ALL wrong yet, we know its aa right.

Facts are facts and if they are not actually correct they are not facts.

Opinions are personal and aren't right or wrong or silly.

You characterizing someone else's opinion or preference as 'silly' is a judgement and is neither an opinion nor a fact.

and

What factory wheels did the coupe in American Graffiti have on it?

Opinions are personal and aren't right or wrong or silly. Of course, but I can certainly have my opinion on silliness

You characterizing someone else's opinion or preference as 'silly' is a judgement and is neither an opinion nor a fact. No, I am not. Saying a car shouldnt be painted a color because it wasnt originally painted that color from the factory originally is at the very least silly and thats my opinion..

That wasnt the point, the point was about the paint color.....

OK then I can marginally agree, but I don't care for cars painted a high impact color before it was available such as plum crazy on a 69 or earlier car.

That's a judgement not an opinion. Opinion are your feelings about something not your feeling on someone else's feeling.

Why would the year a paint came out dictate what year car it should be on?

So C8 or Y3 shouldnt be used on a 70 car because it was out in 71? Yet the 70's are so similar to the 71's many cant tell the difference of the year car, let alone the paint.
