1969 Imperial progress thread

Trailer Queen?:D...
Did you finally find those repair panels for her or are you doing to make new parts from sheet metal?
Happy to see her on the road again!
Regards,
Mika

I imported several panels and bought a donor car. But still, some parts have to be made from scratch. Like the dutchman panel, wheel arches etc.

Good, likely the most economical run it'll ever have.

Keep up the great work.

I'm not so sure about that with a Porsche pulling it ;) We had an average of 16L/100km.

I love when good threads get the dust blown off of them!

I know, i know :O Body shop time is crazy expensive.

And saving money isn't that interesting, so I left out these reports ;)

It's been a while, I know. But I was busy during the summer. :)

I media blasted, etched and derusting dipped all the "smaller" parts of the Imp and then sent them out for electroplated in blue, yellow and black. :)

Here is a little Parts **** =>

I'm there with you Julian. My 61 Fury has recently completed major metal surgery. Cost is staggering. Still finish body work and paint ahead of me. I'm taking a breather for a little while and working on my 67 Polara. THAT.... I have more control of.
Good to see your still on it, nice progress.
Will.

DAYUM !!

To some, that looks like a nightmare, should be one of the cleanest Imperials when finished.

Did you make a photograph register of every part before sending it to that shop or how do you make sure you know what every part is and where it's supposed to go during reassembling?
