I did the best I could with the dent without using filler, although I did touch up the paint damage. Very little filler was used on the rust hole repair. It could use a little more to level it out better but this will be a driver not a show car! Fortunately, good old gloss black rustoleum matches up decently!

I got started on this area tonight. I butt welded this patch in and it fit pretty good. But, it warped pretty good too. I slapped the filler to it and had a Gilley’s beer. Well, I looked at one anyway.

I finished this out tonight. It’s not perfect by a long shot but it should last a long time.
I put plenty of rust killer behind it.
I cut my patch’s out of these old clam shell chairs. It’s thick, old good steel. Yes, I might have shot them a few times too!!

I scuffed up the rockers and shot the Rustoleum to them while my fat *** was down there.

While taking a break from bodywork, I decided to disassemble the old Holley and give it a good long soaking. It didn’t look as bad as I expected inside. I put some Kroil in the float bowl through the overflow tube a week ago to loosen things up. It actually squirted some when I worked the throttle!
I put the body, bowl and metering plate in the can and other parts in this nifty cookie tin that vendors brought to work. First, I had to eat all the cookies though.

I woke up this morning and decided I was tired of Mickey sitting in the garage backwards. So I pushed him outside, called a rollback to load him up and spit it out in the garage the right direction.

This stuff and 000 steel wool. Plus elbow grease! It’s not perfect but, it looks very presentable.
I have to say, this car is very photogenic. It’s hard to take a unflattering picture of it. As with most cars it looks better in videos than in person.
