1972 Dodge Monaco Wagon
I am looking for a good home for my Wagon. I just haven't been able to spend enough time to do it justice and would like to find someone who can continue on and finish saving this cool old Mopar. I think it would be a very good car for someone.
The car is a Western Canadian car so it is very very solid. Everything comes apart nice. Doors, windows and hood all open and close very easily. The car is wearing its original paint, yes that is FE5 - Bright Red and the white stripes are actually the woodgrain faded from dark brown to white. The car runs and drives on a gas can. Brakes and suspension are good but will need to be gone through. No you are not driving this one home but it runs good enough to get on and off a trailer and around your property. This car has been off the road since 1987. Besides needing a new gas tank (or repairing the one that's in it) it needs a muffler. I would save the rest of the original exhaust and have a muffler shop add in a small section of pipe and a new muffler.
Interior wise the car has the desirable black vinyl interior. It is in need of a new dash pad and headliner. I have the original front carpet, in decent shape. The front seats have some seam splits under the duct tape but I think a good interior guy might be able to sew in some new inserts. At least that is what I would do. The door panels are very decent but you would need to take apart and reapply some new woodgrain as the originals have been burnt off by the sun.
This is a six passenger wagon, that besides the cool colour combo is equipped with the 400 2bbl engine, factory electronic ignition, cruise control, power steering, power disc brakes, clock, 3 speaker dash with floor mounted cassette recorder, two rear speakers, I have 2 radios that go with the car along with an NOS microphone in the box. Both radios have the specific lead to run the cassette recorder and I have the wiring to link them together.
I have been collecting parts and have some extras like an NOS rear window motor, the car will come with the nice Rallye wheels and pretty much brand new tires as pictured. I also have a fifth spare wheel and tire but the tire has a blemish on the white wall. I will also include another set of rallyes without caps and rings but with tires as rollers so the new owner can store the car on those or sell or trade for various other parts this car will need.
The car runs well, starts right up, I did a tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I put on a reman carb and kept the original. New belts and hoses. Car will come with a battery but it will not hold a charge. The car shows 72,470 miles. I am guessing those are the original miles. I do have the original owners manual and warranty card as well as one original broadcast sheet.
If you have any questions about the car please do not hesitate to ask.
I am asking $5500 USD for the car. I am located in Brantford Ontario. That is about a hour west of Toronto. Just over a hour from Niagara Falls and three hours away from Detroit. It is no sweat to import the car into the USA if you do it yourself.
For the $5500 USD you get the car and the extra parts that I have mentioned. I only have a limited amount of PM space so email me at with your username so I know who you are:
