its a 4 door - I am talking about a two door (I could use the IMPERIAL nameplate off of the rear truck lid)
Yup, Red with white vinyl top is correct. I don't know what A08 is that year (a package of some sort), but.....H53 is auto temp A/C, R48 is power antenna, L31 is fender mounted turn signal indicators, L35 is cornering lamps, M45 is fender skirts, P31 is power windows, P41 is power door locks, S61 is tilt/telescope column, N23 is electronic ignition, V5X is black side mouldings, G11 is tinted glass, P45 is power trunk release, and R32 is dual rear speakers.I'm in the process of restoring my 1972 imperial Le Baron, looking into replacing the oil white vinyl top. Can one of the "seasoned" Chrysler members decipher my data plate. Wondering if the white top and red paint are original. I looked on-line without any luck. Anyone know how to speak c body braille ? I thank y'all for any help.

A is October and 08 is the eighth day of October.I don't know what A08 is that year (a package of some sort),
October 8th 1971? That explains the AVS carburetor instead of a Holley.A is October and 08 is the eighth day of October.
A08 is the SPD or Scheduled Production Date
Walk us through that. Was there a running change?October 8th 1971? That explains the AVS carburetor instead of a Holley.
I always assumed Chrysler did the running change on many of the cars especially in the early seventies when the big cars with 8 mile per gallon averages and 23 gallon thirsty fuel tanks, I assume that they had a running change. I look at the number on the carburetor flange and I'm starting to realize that the Holly was removed. This carburetor seems to be a 1968 1969 AVS carburetor. I have already found an original h o l l e y carburetor, at least the number is on it correspond with the 72 model Imperial. I guess rebuilding the h o l l e y carburetor is on the list of things to do, right after replace the fuel tank and sending unit, and replace that vinyl top. Not even New Year's Eve yet and I've already got things on my New Year's resolution.Walk us through that. Was there a running change?
