61 Fury Restoration

Today I did wet sanding on the rear drivers quarter panel to get the test paint removed. I got a lot of this off. I even did a video of this and its uploading on you tube I might as well post a few photos of what I did

Making a mess again... love it...

I did some wet sanding on the body to help smooth it out to prepare it for primer . I also did the drivers , the roof of the car the passenger door the top of the rear fender panel . On my next day off from work I plan to do the trunk. I also believe this style sunglasses was worn back in 1961

There is a delay until I get a left front fender it needs to be replaced but the passenger can be saved.there is an update I located a headlight patch panel for my car and its NOS. I did purchase it and it was this item that saved the day. I will be applying the por 15 inside this patch panel

It's amazing the complex metal stampings the car manufacturers used to do. No more. All injected mold plastic now.

It sure as hell would be nice if body panels were reproduced for 1961 plymouth it would help us '61 plymouth owners alot. The panel in the photo is NOS

Many of us have similar concerns finding parts, but I am impressed with your finds... I would have thought everything for your car was impossible to dig up.

There has been more progress. Por 15 has been applied to patch panels The part were the new panel will be welded on has been cut and removed . After the part was cut off I was like OMG I have never seen that much car cancer. I hope this can be repaired

If you ever need encouragement, look at what some of the Auburn/Cord people go through. I don't know if you've ever been to the ACD museum but it's a great place to visit. The factory had patterns where body parts were hand made. Time consuming but where there's a will, there's a way.

I checked the site out and it s for Duisenburgs but thank you for telling me about it. There are times I wish I had the cash to take it to a restoration shop and have them finish it for me.
