71-73 Fuel Level Sender Dimensions

Can somebody here provide me the overall lenght of the pipe of a 71-73 fuel sender? I just need a reference dimension from the mounting flange to the end of the filter. Reason being, is while sorting out a fuel starvation issue, I pulled the pickup and it had a long rubber hose on the end of pipe. Not sure why but my pickup looks very short - more like an a-body part. Maybe the hose was used to compensate for lenght of the wrong part. Shadetree city. The vendors selling these can not provide such info and the images in the FSM and online all look different (e.g. both below are stock images of pickups for said model) so I can't compare to those. Thanks.

I had this out just yesterday, too bad, I'm not siphoning out 23 gallons again.
