1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 400 CI, Automatic | Lot W40 | Kissimmee 2017 | Mecum Auctions
Nice $5k car.
That car's been on eBay for $16,500 for months now. It's in my fav's. I don't believe it'll ever sold for that.
How do you buy a nice $5k car if all of the nice $5k cars are priced at $15k? I hate auctions and the stupid people who run their car through them.
They never ever sell for $15k.
The owner either is stuck with a nice $5k car or eventually comes back to reality and quietly sells it for $5k.

First rate $2500 car... I just want to know where they found a fool to go all the way to $11,000 and what moron decided to hold out for more.
I will say, the car was nicely detailed...
I talked to him a short bit. I was polite. Honest.
What was his reaction.....to the honest opinion?
I was just saying, I honestly was polite by saying nothing.
So are you guys actually seeing NYBs in this condition selling for $2500-5000? Actual sales, or are you buying your cars at those prices and finding multiple to choose from?
He talked. It went in my one ear and out the other. And I said nothing.
Let's put it this way. We all shopped around long and hard.
In a way, yes... The car itself appears to be a decent survivor and I believe low mileage/ inside storage helped her survive this well. I do not recall going over the car too thoroughly looking for paint work because I saw lots of things that didn't inspire me to feel it was a 5X value car. The detail work has value, but not that kind of value.
There are so many factors to count when deciding condition vs value... they all seem to lack something. here are a couple nicer ones that haven't found new homes for a long time.
This car has been for sale for about 3 years...

Now those are my kinda cars!!! Not my kinda money though.. lol both are beautiful..
Jeff, is that powder Blue a factory color? I like that allot.
Yes. B1 blue is a factory color. My 78 NYB is B3 Cadet Blue Metallic which of course I think looks like a better shade of blue. To me that B1 blue looks like primer when I see it with eyeballs. Just my opinion....
Hey maybe oldmanmopar will give em 12k for it to rob the driveline outta it lol.
Really? I am far more excited by the darker shades like Kenny's... but considering overall condition, color would be of lessor concern to me... In pristine condition, I would be good with pink.
I honestly believe with a little elbow grease several of the ones I've posed in the past with realistic pricing could be this nice... and sitting cars come with their own nightmares. My parts car money may have bought a prettier car, but not one that had someone who loves Mopar recently go through it for mechanical function. My NYB had a long and well loved existence... if she hadn't been put out to pasture in between romances she would still be pretty too. She hasn't even wet the driveway.
Edit... Bittersweet, the color, still gets my full attention...
I like this color a lot on this car too. I presume because I dont see it much. The interior color helps
