9th Annual C body Show...

I’m sorry to hear you will not be hosting the show anymore
Never say never. I'm sure there are plenty of good Ole boys down south that would like to attend a C Body Show in their neck of the woods.:poke:

I too can vouch for vouch for Stahl's, as Carmine said, as I also live about 6 miles away from the museum. an incredibly interesting place.
but I'm willing to drive especially if it's in October.

I'm not too familiar with that area but I have camped at shabbona state park not terribly from paw paw as I remember/ ,and there's the state park just north of (forgot which) either IL 38 (or is it 64?) and IL2 intersection, around Oregon (where Woods mowers are made)
Ive been to the Volo show twice with my son, it's a little ways from us here in Kankakee, id also like to do a CATL run at least once if you'd have me (except for my fury is a B body) maybe I'll have to steal my son's 72.... I tried the rt66 one a couple of years ago but too short notice to get off of work....
What do you think of doing something around starved Rock area? I can think of a few possibilities except you'd have to change it to CATR as that's the Illinois river (not lake haha) around there.
Volo was nice except for not having it to ourselves, they lump us in with the S 10 guys ...

"They" is us is you!
Tim did a ton of work for years.
Several of us have pitched in for catl.
Start up something in the NE.

I sure hope so, what is "catl"?
Closet thing is mopar show in Califon nj on June 7th. I’m going.
There is also a south jersey mopar club that does car shows.

That sounds cool, is that the same group that used to do it at Teterboro Chrysler dealership?

The CATL (C-bodies At The Lake) drives are annual driving events that started in 2019. See here for more info on the various editions.

I wish they would do one here in NJ ah well :(
Peanuts. I drive 752 miles in one day to get to the show! All 3 C's made it each 2019 BoaB 2022 Frankie 2023 Grace!
I can drive to Wharton NJ in 5.5 hours!

@cbarge .....and you did the 2nd show the following day as well a time or two, and we were glad to have you every time.
Driving to a long distant event like the C Body Show, or Carlisle is an adventure.

I have enough trouble going 20 minutes from my house lol
Then the car needs work and shouldn't be on the road. These are big highway cars and do great even in modern traffic. But they gotta be up to par, also driven somewhat frequently.

Only 250 miles to Mopars in the park next weekend.
the 2009 C body show I am debating on, that will be 500ish.

Maybe I try for Carlisle next year!

I am sure people are wondering about the C body show this year. Volo no longer has room to accommodate us, and the train museum doesnt work as well as we hoped, not to mention the admission fee scares some folks off.

Let's discuss ideas on how to keep this show going, and growing. I have plenty of space and can likely host an event like this.

The very first one was in October of 2017@ volo, then we went back to Volo in June of 2018, and June of 2019.

If planning starts now we can set something up for September or Early October.

Ideas? Thoughts?
I don't really have any ideas, but I do like the idea of a get together and Fall is my favorite.

Most people are afraid to drive these things a measurable distance.
I'm glad I don't consider myself among them.
That said I have a lot better chance at helping myself and getting past a problem with an older car than a newer POS.... Who needs 27 "control modules" or 97 sensors to get where they're going? If your car doesn't have it it can't leave you stranded. I remember when I did power tour even 15 years ago I didn't have a single problem with my fury/ not one. But I remember one particular guy who had a fuel pump die about halfway through the power tour and I remember him telling me he should have taken his other car.... Don't remember what he said that was but I remember him saying he would rather have to change a mechanical pump that's held on by 2 bolts on the side of an engine than the tow to someplace that could drain and drop his tank .. in fact I love being the guy with the "old car" on the road. As it is I live the farthest away from work and I have the oldest thing in the parking lot... And the guys who live closest feel like they have to have the newest....
