Were the three or 4 speed transmissions painted at the factory for 1966? Were they engine color? Am asking for my American 1966 Newport.
My best recollection is that they were not painted. Castings were left their natural color and usually had a few rust spots. A lot of them wound up painted when they were rebuilt, but I do not think the factory bothered with painting them. Dave
