Big John I never meant to imply you picked out a goofy headrest LoL !!!

I hate them all. I know they keep your neck from snapping but weesh man can’t they make them less obnoxious. The new ones actually shove your head forward. First thing I did for my tiny wife was pitch all the back seat head rests in her new Kia Soul. The next time she drove it she couldn’t believe how easy it was to see out the back window.

Kinda reminds me of long ago quality time spent with my Dad on a Saturday morning cutting 100 jingling seatbelts out of our brand new 8 passenger van. Those were great days to be alive, back when we could all legally laugh in the face of danger.

I rode in a buddy's '66 Coronet Hemi car a few years ago. An ex race car, this was probably one of the fastest street cars I've ever ridden it.

With my bad neck, I really could have used a head rest to lean back against! Hurt for the rest of the night, but it was worth it.

Well, I’ll have to think on that as I finish wiring up bypassing my ammeter this afternoon. Need to measure the bolt holes for the seats and go from there.

The back seat head rests in my Impala are big bricks that are hard to see around, too. Not so bad when they’re lowered. The fronts adjust forward/backward, so My head isn’t getting shoved forward. They’re honking big though.

Had a laugh about cutting the seatbelts out of the van. Back then: “Seatbelts?! Those’ll kill ya!” (Ha!). Your “seatbelt” was your dad’s arm snapping out in front of you when the brakes were jammed on, right?

Nope he just let the chips fall where they may LoL!!!

Best story I have related to that is my wife’s Dad.

Doc Ryan was very well know and respected in small 1960’s chandler Az. He was reported for a crazy type of child abuse while driving home with his boys. The policeman pulled over his red 66 Charger (6 odd boys no seatbelts - he had 11 kids ) and upon observing nothing wrong he carefully explained the reason he was stopped. The cop said “Doc it’s been reported to us that you were hitting one of your children in the back seat with the small one from the front seat!” He explained no I was hitting him with this teddy bear. They were all being pretty squirrelly and they were making it hard to concentrate on my driving. The cop could see this was obviously true so he just went with it. He said “ boys you should know better than to be horsing around in the car while Doc is trying to drive you home.”

“AND you’re all very lucky he had that teddy bear in the car with you...”
