Another Question About Motor Oil.....

After reading other posts here I have decided to use Brad Penn oil, it seems to be one of the better. I have 2 questions for everybody.

1st question - 20W50 or straight 30 weight, I'm in California so not many cold days.

2nd question - With using the better oil is there any up or down side to adding ZDDP additive to get more protection, is there a point where to much becomes bad the motor ?

Thanks for any answers up front, I know motor oils have been discussed a lot already.

I wouldn't bother with the additive. I don't know of any downside to more, but I think there would be no upside to it.

20w50. You don't need to use any additive for the Brad Penn oil.

You don't need the multi weight, the straight 30 would be just fine and its a bit cheaper.
