Did the '68 300 come with a battery warning sticker?
If so, where did it go?
I see there are reproductions out there. My car is very original, and no battery sticker.

I don't recall ever seeing one back in the day. Maybe they fell off quickly?

I have engine room decals for 8 bucks each including the stamp.

The battery stickers were paper (reproductions also), so they never really lasted long. One hit with a pressure washer they are gone.

They go right on the radiator core support right in front of the battery.

Mine has been babied and already showing wear. ‘68 Polara

The battery decal is missing from both my ‘67s but my ‘64 still retains it.
The Director car has its stat and coolant decals though.

Matt, is that yhe correct air cleaner decal for 1966 440 C body? There's so much confusing choice out there...
I don’t really know for sure but I found these applications for the filter.

I know that from my original Air Cleaner sticker, that by '68 they were the brighter yellow with Red lettering.

Typically on the rad core support near the battery.
The Antifreeze decal is on the right side of rad core support.
Being installed on a moving assembly line there is no "exact" location per se.

I had seen original cars not have decals or one of t hem missing and no sign of one being there..guessing the worker was on break,LOL!!

I've found this to be a good source and resource for engine decals. You can also start looking at part numbers and sometimes the later broadcast sheets will have a reference to what tire and emission decals should be on the car.

You do have to do some homework and remember that these repop decals have been out long enough that some could have been replaced in the eighties and now look like they might be original because of condition. Some of the earlier repops were wrong and/or bad material too.

After some more research, I agree with your findings. By they way, I checked out your website - nice stuff!!

Thanks Ross! Approximately 2% of the work I’ve done over the last 10 years is in the portfolio on the site. I’m way behind with my photographer...

detmatt's post #6 is how most of the ones I've seen (and on my '66 and '67 Newports) look like when "aged". Shrunken and shriveled, with the base adhesive visible from when new. Just how they aged, by observation.

Enjoy!

Thank you ALL for the replies. Now I know where to put the battery warning decal. I'm gonna put it on right now.
BTW, saw some discussion about the air cleaner decal. This is a pic of my '68 300 original.
