Best place to buy a PCM

Thermostat.

Mine is about to boil over. Not sure about the van. It wouldn’t be so bad if I could just install it & bam get my inspection. You have to drive the darn thing for 100 miles or so through a few cycles so it can read & learn the vehicle. That takes a few days to a week.

No I bought it from the tire store. They said they have a machine that makes it.

Ok I went back up to Autozone. 20 mile round trip. Picked up the new PCM. The manager was having a tough time doing the exchange in the computer. So I installed it in the parking lot. 10 minutes. Started right up. Light went off. So went back inside & he was still unable to process the paperwork in his computer. FINALLY he got it to go through. He gave me a 10 dollar credit for the trouble. I asked for more. That’s all he would give. Hopefully this fixes the van. I still think I’m going to hold onto my old PCM. FOREVER !

They’ll check. They hook it up & send it to DMV.

In PA you can only get it inspected with one I/M not complete and it cannot go through the next year with the same I/M not complete (yes they/computer remembers) I would assume other states are similar.

i had an 03 t+c van. there is a way to check the codes by cycling the key a certain way or number of times (been a few years). the codes will show up on the odometer.
mine would stall out, like someone shut the key off, at random times. all lights worked, radio etc. everything but starter and ignition. it got worse and worse, sometimes taking a day or more before restarting. no one could figure it out.
i finally put two brain cells together and did the key dance while it wouldn't start. absolutely nothing showed on the odometer as far as codes, even the all is well code. i took a chance that the pcm wasn't communicating properly, replaced it and all was well again.

I finally got it pass NC inspection. Just left DMV & all legal. WHEW.

Nope it too had a bad PCM. He ordering one from England.

It cost me about $400 in parts. Over a half tank of gas putting miles on it so the new PCM would read. And an estimated $500 in lost income AND IM STILL PUTTING OUT THE EXACT SAME EMMISSIONS AS I WAS BEFORE ! This is BULL! Just to get the damn light to go off. And two PCM’s
