To be honest Matt I don't know...(short answer)

It's a feature in general, like the antenna (does work), air conditioning, pop up sunroof, etc...I don't use those when I drive any of the old iron. Tires, fuel, brakes, steering, power windows, CD music...that's my mental check off or walk around before I go on any trip. (long answer)
