C body insurance:

I've got Haggerty's for my Charger. Something like 10k a year. It's about 275 for the whole year. I did it all online. They called wanting a picture of the car. I emailed one back and was done. Super easy.

I called some places and they won't insure it until it is done being restored. WTF.
This is true. Heacock is that way. State Farm has a policy at a discounted rate if you are not driving the car. What you do, is get an agreed value policy, send some basic pictures (of the car before it is dismantled) and you'll be good. The vehicle has to be inside of course.

Hagerty will insure a project. You have to show progression, however. Been there, done that, no problem.

Hagerty for me in Wisconsin. Basicly $100 per 10k worth of coverage. I used them once when the Cop Car fan blade went into the radiator at the auto body shop. No problems with that one approx. 10 years ago.

I pay about $250 a year for both cars total....They have to be drivable cars, so yes, a photo of the car before being worked on is the way around that

My NYB is probably a #3 grade car so it's not very valuable. I drive about 10k miles a year.

I have a standard Allstate policy. The collector car insurance companies want a late model daily driver. My truck and both Polaras are liability only and full coverage on my Barracuda as a 47 year old car. Once the CHP car is done I will need to change the coverage and start looking at other options.

Hagerty here also.
$250.00/yr. for two cars.
You need to have a late model DD and show pics of the vehicles in covered storage to be insured.
Best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

I offered to make the trip to Traverse City, Mi. where Hagerty's home office iz so they could take all the pics they wanted. The gal cracked up laughing and said what I'd already sent waz just right 'cuz if I showed up the whole office would be in the parking lot and the boss wouldn't like it!

I currently have four insured with Hagerty, and have been a customer for nearly 20 years. It's $414/yr for the four. In 2003, a tornado took out my house, shop and all but two of my vehicles I had then. I had five insured with them then - two Hudsons, a Metropolitan, a '68 Monaco and my '66 Coronet - the '66 was not at my home when the tornado took everything out. The Hudsons and the Monaco were totalled, while the Met was easily repairable. Filed a claim two days after the storm, the adjuster arrived two days after that, and I had money in my hands three days after that. Could not have asked for better customer service!!!

Now, if you wanna know what bags of Horseshit USAA is, I'll be glad to tell ya!

I have only insured mine while daily driving it. My insurance companies have always been good about swapping cars on & off the plan when I need to take one out of service for extensive work. I don't even get a tag on most since CA allows a $25 "planned no-op" (one time fee). I can just re-new the tag any time and pay that year's fee to start driving again. My 65 Newport has been "totaled" 3 times as I recall and I still have a regular title (not "salvage"). They paid me "book value" and I took off a bit to keep the car. Last time, a deer crunched one door which I fixed myself after the pay-off. Not my fault their body shops say "can't fix, total it".
