I just had a guy call me about that old Chevy truck. He does custom work & is local. He wants to use it for body molds to make custom body parts. Anyway we got talking & he said he has done work for Hollywood celebrities such as Snoop Dog & a few others. Said he makes custom furniture out of car parts. So we started talking about those car couches. I started thinking I regularly have body parts left over from cars I part out so I asked him about a car couch from this 64 Chrysler I'm currently working with. He said he could do it & it would look very good. He also sent me some pics of some of his work. So what do you guys think. Any interest in this kind of thing.

This was built from 57 Ford parts. It had a built in stereo.
The speakers played into a metal box that could be filled with dry ice. The box exited into the tail pipe tips and when the speakers pulsed while playing the dry ice "smoke" would be pushed out through them. OH, the lights lit up too.

I have never seen one done like his, with the rear ends conjoined. This allows for alot more artist creativity/functionality. It also takes away from the "Car feel". This is coming from a guy who is a full fledged cabinet/furniture maker, Carguy and hate to admit it, but, jack of all trades, who has been thinking of this for along time. Thanks for posting. Also could you clarify your question? Are we C bodies only members interested? Or just the general public? I believe this is a "niche product" however if executed properly, will appeal to a larger crowd.

I also built a 65 Sunbeam Tiger "couch", (rear section). It was finished in BRG w/biscuit interior.
Still looking for a picture.

Anyone who has an interest. A 64 Chrysler couch is kinda neat I think. I may have one built. Before I do anything I'd go visit his shop. Look at some of his work

I've also restored several vintage gas pumps. The toughest was a late 60's Wayne 511 Sunoco "custom blended" pump.

All the blue & yellow panels were powder coated.

I needed something for all the electronics and found a 1941 Zenith radio cabinet in a junk shop. As much as I love old radios and wouldn't cut up a good one, this one was missing all the electronics and not far from the bonfire pile.

I have all the stereo, cable TV, blu-ray, modems and routers in this. The back is cut to straddle the downward firing sub-woofer and the center speakers for the TV are in this now.

Nice ......... It's fun to repurpose these things while restoring them.
