Cbody Bob's 1966 Chrysler 300 coupe

It's alive! And the gas gauge works! Man that's dirty, where's my garden hose?

Very nice even threw the optional wheel covers on too. What a professional shoot not a hose to be found. :)

Went to Gary's shop today to check on the progress of my 300. And we took it out for a quick drive. Rode & drove very well. Surprised actually. Had a little miss in the engine. We'll get that fixed. Still got a lot of work to do to her. I need to take a break as I have 4 projects going so the next week or two will have just Gary doing a few minor things. Give him time to get some other things done then we will go back at the ole Chrysler again. It really was fun to drive her.

What did you do to the gas gauge? Replace the sender? Did you have to tweak the float arm to get to read correct? I put one in a customers GTX and it doesn't read like it should, the gauge sweeps with ground and sweeps when connected to the sender and I move the arm but when installed and he filled it he says it doesn't read right. I wondered what you ran into on the 300.

Yes it has a new sender unit in it and I bent the arm a bit to get it to start reading with three gallons in the car, then we put another gallon in it and it read just above empty. I think that's pretty close to where you want it. So yes, bending the float arm to get the gauge to read right is necessary.

Okay, its time to get stuck into Bobs car again, I removed the rear bumper and bits of trim in preparation to do the lower rear quarters. I also marked a line of where I will cut each one.
