I was just on TTI's website checking prices, is it worth the extra expense to have the system ceramic coated? Are there cheaper alternatives?

I had mine ceramic coated, they claim lower temps. I did not record the exhaust manifold temps before being coated, but after at idle, if I remember, were around 240-260. Around 2500 rpms, I think they were around 330-360 degrees. Stock manifolds on my 383.

I put on ceramic coated headers on my 67 Fury III when I completed the 440 swap, big difference in the amount of heat given off and they look sharp. Worth the money if it's a car you'll be keeping for a while.

You won't regret coating them. My favotite place to get that done is Calico Coatings in Denver North Carolina. Good job, reasonable cost and quick turn around.

I have never seen anything else hold up as far as rust poping through. I plan on doing mine next year when I install dual exhaust. There is a shop near me that does excellent work.

My friend swears by it, I'll just have to save up a little more money.

I will not swear by it, but I believe I paided 260 for the pair. It was an extra 60 because I had them coated in gray, not black.

Jet Hot did a set of (4) headers for me, it was $350 IIRC. I had the inside coated as well. They looked almost chrome when done.

I saw one set of cast iron manifolds on a 64 Corvette that had been aluminum coated. It was really cool looking, I don't know if it helped on the heat though.

The inside is also done on my manifolds. I had a buell back in the day and had the exhaust header coated by Jet Hot, it blued almost instantly.
