I don't know why I really like this Imperial - it is a completely impractical car but wow! I can't quite imagine driving it down the highway in Los Angeles.

Very nice! That color is beautiful. That year they were 226.3 inches which is about 3" shorter than the fuselage generation Imps.

I would take both the white convertible and the Le Baron if I could spool back in time and buy them. Chrysler had to lose money on every one. Astonishing cars! Virgil Exner was a genius! I have a two door 60 Imperial Crown with the swivel seats that I really want to restore too. I have been trying to figure out what color to make it, but this photo moves white to the top of the list. So many cars, so little time......................................

I think it will bring more. Ebay has a much wider audience and that car needs one to get the bidding up. It would be a relatively easy restoration on a very hard to restore car given the good condition of the driveline (I like it when the ads say nice green coolant) and 30K plus miles on it and the pretty complete interior. That soft cloth on the seats didn't last long even back then, and even that is pretty much intact on this car.

Two things I have noticed, one good and the other not so good. Look close at the trunk photo, the car was white and a thorough job was not done. The good one is that the car has rear A/C. So the junk is in the trunk. Not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind when adding up the dollars to do it right.

Good eye. The listing says he was told the original color was Moonstone Blue, but it does look like it was originally white as you said.

But for me, I would strip that car down to bare metal to uncover whatever issues might be in the body and then make any repairs done properly and give it the original white as my first choice anyway. The photo Stan sent says it all for me. Just looking at all the other cars/colors in the assembly plant at the time, just makes me more partial to the white on this car.

So two whole days after the auction to pay in full and arrange transport before the seller leaves for Europe for two weeks???

It looks like those rust holes had previously been covered with Bondo (which is now popping off). In my opinion, that entire area looks sculpted and now makes me suspicious of the bodywork under the rest of the car. The door panel looks purposely staged to cover the trunk area in this pic. Most of the other pics are too small to see any specific details. I would definitely suggest an in person inspection on this one.
