Hello, I am in the process of fixing up my 1972 Chrysler New Yorker gauge cluster and I found a wire that was not attached to anything. It's a boot type connection that would sit on a terminal. The wire is blue which I am holding in the picture attached. It's joined to a 4 pin connector that connects to the Guage gauge. My gas gauge was not working prior to my cluster removal. I've also attached a picture of the gas guage circuit board. Is it safe to assume this blue plug belongs on the right side terminal? (The left side terminal is grounded.)

Don't hook that to anything without checking with your wiring diagram first.

Do ALL "experimenting / checking" with your battery disconnected.

That is a 12V feed. The terminal it goes on would look like a small bolt, not a flat terminal. Is there a bolt terminal on your fuel guage?

If so it may be correct for your fuel guage - but it could also be there for some accessory that your car may not have.

Best to dbl check the wiring diagram.

Likely that's the right spot for that boot feed as it's the correct style of terminal.

If it were a 65 or a 66 I could check for you, but I don't have diagrams for your year.

They're available on line though...
