Dealing with Alzheimer’s

Treasure every moment you can.
I just lost my mom at 71 to that back on November 11th. After 3 years of slow decline, then in the summer of 2020 hit like a rock. Felt so helpless that summer being laid off with the closers and trying to make the best of it with her in that condition. Then sadly neither dad or myself could calm her down anymore, we had to make the hardest decision. She spent a year almost exactly a year in a specialized care facility. Only got to spend 3 more times with her (I didn't count the 4th because that "wasn't" mom). Cried every damn time afterwards, even at 41.

My fiancé and I took mom out to Sioux Falls and she had a manicure / pedicure. We followed up with lunch.
She’s thrilled!
