I’m looking for the door water shield that goes on the inside of the door, underneath the door panel. One side of my 68 Fury II rear doors had a clear plastic shield. The other side had nothing.
What do you guys recommend and use?

Plastic sheet from Home Depot is my go to. IIRC, I get 4 mil (.004") thick, but use your judgement.

The factory could use black strip caulk to hold things in place, but masking tape can work, too. I used black silicone as it held things in place nicely, but would then pull off the sealer cleanly. Then a few dabs when the plastic was put back on.

Chrysler used that plastic sheet, but GM used craft paper which disintegrated with age and exposure.

Thanks.
I picked up a bag of 3 mil (they didn’t have 4) plastic sheets from Lowes. Additionally, I bought a can of 3M #90 spray adhesive and a roll of that blue painters tape.

I also will steal the box of wax paper from the kitchen to put down, when I spray.

This should do the trick.

I use 1/4" X 1/16" thick two sided adhesive foam tape and thick poly vapour barrier for this job. Apply the tape to the door top and sides, peel the paper off the top, line up your plastic, press against top, repeat on sides. Trim plastic, notch and tuck in bottom, done!

Very good to us UV resistant plastic. Otherwise in a few years it crumbles to bits, yes even behind the door panel.
