FASTENAL SHIPPING

As far as I know ir's only store to store...
Yup store to store only and some stores don't participate, just a few usually the really small ones. I have not run into that yet...…. I am sure I will use them at least monthly.

The stores around me all support the LTL shipping. I've sent a door, a tailgate, a complete rear axle assembly and a transmission through Fastenal without issues. Don't expect to take a part to them and slap a shipping label on it, they don't work that way. It has to be palletized or crated up, period. If you're shipping an item that normally has fluids in it, all that has to be drained out before you crate it up.

.
You have to fill out the online form and then wait for them to send you a quote. Be careful how much you say it's worth, don't inflate value. I shipped a 4'x4' pallet from TX to PA for $175.
Very good advice... they had a promotion a while back, $99 shipped a pallet with a value under $999.

How does that fit on a 48x40 pallet? Or does pallet size not matter?
When I sent a pallet they didn't mention a pallet size limit that I recall, just that the items could not extend beyond the edges of the pallet. May be a faulty memory as what I shipped did fit on a std pallet.

The pieces you all are shipping are considered household goods/ used, and therefore are subject to different regulations for transportation. In and out of states where bugs may be on/in your parts and hatch becoming a problem for certain plants.

I shipped 2 bumpers in a hand built wooden crate from the midwest to the east coast and it was around $200. Happy with the shipping service....not so much with the condition of the so called "almost new" bumpers.

Cantflip you saw some of the machines I ship at Carlisle I believe, usually under 150 coast to coast
I shipped this "coffin" of parts in 2017... from Pittsburgh to Orlando... shipping to myself caused a small confusion... $200, I figured out later I overpaid because I told them the value was "around a grand"... $900 would have saved me $ for sure... IDK if $99 would have made a difference or not.

Think they tack on 3% per hundred after the automatic 300. I actually had to do a claim on one, someone ripped of the topper from one of the sun machines, was not bad and they did it fairly quickly. Now I throw HF moving blankets over them instead of plastic.
