foam gaskets in drum backing plate

Hi Guys, greetings for sunny england!

just rebuilding my 66 polara braking and steering systems....thought i had all the parts but there appears to be a foam gasket inside the brake backplate centre hole.....does anyone stock them? thanks for the assist

My local chain parts store has them under Fel-Pro. Also Mancini Racing has them.Backing plate gasket. There is also a gasket for the axel flange

You don't really need these as they just prevent rust from forming between the plate and the hub it's attached to. A light smear of silicon will do the same thing or if you're a bit paranoid, buy a piece of gasket material and make your own.

I made mine from backing material that came with some electrical apparatus. Radios, TVs, amplifiers and such are usually wrapped with white thin foam material which is just perfect for those gaskets

Did the same with shipping foam. Traced the old and cut them out.
As mentioned earlier DMT would probably have them a (look the same as my 68). But understand the hassle of shipping overseas.

I have hand carried a few car parts to the Czech Republic for colleague of mine due to the pain of shipping.
