Googled my VIN...

I haven't look around much. I figured the drug dog has already sniffed it out. Rocker panels are so rusted, it wouldn't make a good hiding spot. I'm guessing this dope dealer was pretty small time. I looked up the civil case and there were four defendants in the case.

I drove the car yesterday for the third time since July . Two cylinders are bad and I finally found a rebuilder in South Carolina. $2600 for shipping and the rebuild which will include putting on timing chain cover, valve covers and oil pan and intake manifold. Brake light came on while driving it yesterday. Very bad shaking when I hit the brakes at 50 mph. Slower I went, smoother it got.

Probably some young folks got pulled over and the cop smelled weed. So they stole the car from them. Cops enjoy being government sponsored highwaymen.

From what you wrote wasn't a big loss with rusted out rocker panels and the engine/brakes needing a rebuild. At least it wasn't a more valuable newer vehicle, I hate supporting thieves.

I agree, John Kirby. It was Clayton county, Georgia, which is a low population mountain area. Not a bastion of kingpins. A lot of police agencies use asset forfeiture to rob poor people.
