All I can think of is the movie Duel.
Timeless classic beauties!!!
But crude beasts, too. I have no idea how OTR truckers could do it back then. Absolutely brutal beyond what I could have endured.
And we never saw those back here in the East.
I'm not a fan on slapping West Coast Bumpers on those classics either. Not really period correct. They really didn't become the rage until the late 70's or early 80's or so...

What about a 2 story Falcon? Or a cracker box? Scary to drive bobtail, but interesting trucks. I started organizing some of my old truck brochures. International, Kenworth, Ford (remember the CL9000?), White, Autocar, International, even CCC (road tractors, not just mixers). Neat stuff.

A friend of mine had a 82 White road boss worked everyday till mid 2009, they used the same cab for conventional like his as the coe just instead of dog house a flat floor and firewall blank bolted in, talk about a multipurpose design. Those old 50-60s trucks are very cool and I would definitely grab one if I got the chance but would not want to run the road in one, hell I don't want to run the road at all, of course 80% of the drivers out there wouldn't know or care about it they are just worried about how many storage compartments are in their sleeper of what ever P.O.S. their co hands them the keys to, no pride in their plastic ride.
