Grace on her maiden voyage with a few special stops!

Heading to Illinois to the FCBO show and tge Fox Lake Mopar show.
Along the way had to make a few special stops.
Grace, as I named her after Grace Kelly, princess of Monaco,
Was built in Windsor Ontario and was sold new out in British Columbia.
She lived there right up until I bought her and shipped back to Ontario last October.
Since I was passing through to cross the Ambassador vridge into Detroit I decided to drive to her birth place.
56 years later..

Its been 14 years since I last saw @D Cluley
Since we were passing through we finally got to reunite!
Luck would have it a car show broke out!
So I took a break from driving to check out the show with Dan!

Last stop with Dan at the store for a pee stop and grab a few things.

I'm just glad we could arrange an entire downtown car show just for your visit.

Seriously, I'm glad you could take the time for a meet up, and the car show was a nice coincidence.

Glad to see you made the rest of the trip ok, we got a little more rain, but not enough to mess up the show and then it cleared up so I could take the long back way home with the top down.

We talked about the downtown Murals, but didn't see this one. In '53 & '54 the Kaiser-Darrins were built at a small facility in Jackson.

That 62 Caðdy was stuñning, among a few other cars!

Sure..not another Mustang..but waitaminute. .
A 6 cylinder car that has not been butchered into a V8 GT or Shelby clone.
A 4 speed backing that six up.
Pony interior that looks great in two-tone.

I really enjoyed the show as there was an eclectic mix of things that I dont get to see in my neck of the Great White North's woods..
This Mercury Cyclone screams 1970's with slot wheels and period interior mods..
The Boss 429 can also scream too!!

Personally, ditch the scoop and this would be an ultimate door slammer..

Jackson is a nice town. The downtown architecture caught my eye..like this old hardware store..

I could have stayed till dark but had to get back on the road.
Maggie and I are fans of the TV show Chicago Fire.

So....since I was passing through I stopped at Station 18 where the show shoots station 51 on locatio
I asked for permission to take photos and was welcomed by the guys and they loved Grace.

After the men looked at the car, the Captain invited me in to get T shirts.
Just as we were going in they had to respond to a call!
Yes got the shirts!!

By the time I left the fire house, I was on the road 15 hours and still gad to get to the motel.
Landed at the motel 11pm.
Fox Lake Motel, an independant, family own joint.
Very happy with the room as I can keep an eye on Grace right in front of my door..
Plus love that I can hang my keys by the door! Lol!
TV is a 90's throwback but thats ok. I usually am on my phone while i play a chanbel on tv with classic rock station.

Got up early enough to wash and vacuum the car.
Glad I did all my "show prep" beforehand as I was bombarded yet easily distracted!! Lol!!
I parked next to another 67 Monaco 500!
Similar but oh so different!!
We had fun doung comparisons.

Had a blast at the show.
It was Grace's turn to be in the limelight with fellow C's lol!

A few months ago @SGVert needed a front sidemarker for his Sportsgrain 'vert.
I still have plenty of left overs from the Boab's resto.
I shipped one out and this morning he bought breakfast!

The Cicagoland Mopars at the Park was an awesome show.
Attendance was fair despite the unpredictable weather.
Eventually the show was cut short as the wind picked up and clouds moved in .
Grace got 2nd place in her class and I also got a 25.00 gas card for longest distance travelld..745 miles!
