I have checked out many of your posts before joining.
I have been searching for a 1969-71 Chrysler C body (fuselage) coupe.

I will keep you up to date on what I find available here in my corner of Canada and post photos.

So my first question is: purchase a fixer upper (barn or field find) at an initial low cost ?
Or go with something that someone else has completed?

Welcome..... The answer to your question lies within you. Do you want to shine and drive or park and wrench?
I myself prefer a mostly original car, ready to roll and you can see nothing has been done.

Depends on how old you are. Either way, it will take you 20 years to fix up the barn find, or find the one that makes you happy. Between the '71 300 and the Newport vert....I'd get 'em both!

Hold out and wait and watch for what feels like eternity and a one owner - for sale by owner beauty will pop up. That's what you want. :welcome:

Welcome aboard. It will generally be cheaper to go with a running and driving car to start with. A field find will require a lot more wrenching, time and work to finally enjoy it. But as mentioned it depends a lot on you...do you prefer the challenge of getting a vehicle back to road worthyness, or would you prefer to enjoy the car now and upgrade and maintain as needed.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome!

I prefer running/driving cars I can enjoy immediately - everything else is negotiable.

Hello from Minnesota! Go for something that is driveable. Even if it needs work you can enjoy it while using it, that's what I've been doing for 9 years!

Welcome from another Albertan. What part are you from? Don't forget to pin yourself to the member map in the "community" tab.

Thank you everyone.
I appreciate your comments and opinions.

I will let you know what transpires over the summer.

The more complete the better, (I'm starting year number four fixing up my barn find.) There's something to be said for instant gratification. Welcome aboard and good luck with your search.
