From what I have read the difference between HP and Log type exhaust manifolds as far as performance is minimal. Best case scenario 5 to 10 hp max between them. You have a tired engine,,use the logs you have and get a nice dual exhaust made up. Then go for an intake and 4 barrel carb later .

For my 440
I used 2951216 70-71 C-body left
and 2806900 68-69 440 mag right
These manifolds will also fit your 383.

You also need metal heat shields to avoid cooking your rocker cover gasket
