How many MILES---

Hood clearance.....Throttle linkage hitting the air cleaner on the round air cleaner otherwise I would of used my old one.
you know a salad bowl makes more torque and hp right?

my fury shows 140k but the engine is a 1978 360 and i have no idea how many miles are on it!?

The reason I drove 250 miles today, is that I found a good deal on an lightly used Edelbrock setup for a B series engine. The Monaco ran flawless, cruise control set at 65mph while cruising down Interstate 55. Averaged 13mpg for the whole trip.

Mr Blimp - post your headlight specs, please! Those look nice and white.

This one has 192k. I bought in 1997 at 110k from the original owner, then put 75k on it in the first 7-ish years I owned it. I don't put many miles on it nowadays, sadly. I need to find a new job about 25 miles from home and get this one to the 200k mark!

Ironically, I bought it about 40 miles from where I lived in 1997, but now live in the same town as the guy I bought it from. I've hoped to cross paths with him, but he was about 60 back then so I presume he's passed on.

I told him I'd probably keep his car forever - I haven't yet, but at 21 years I'm well on my way!

You haven't read my posts...I do things wrong all the time haha! I have the unfortunate trait of making mistakes on my own, before taking mere seconds and asking you guys for advice! Apparently I'd rather waste my time, hard earned money, and break parts first

Here's the Imperial I bought in Philadelphia this past March and drove back to the Chicagoland area. It has super solid floors and trunk, as it's spent most of its life in Idaho and Atlanta. The body is beat up and the roof has rust, but it's an absolute blast to beat around in whenever I get the chance. Including the 800 mile trip home, I've put around 2,000 miles on it this year. Here it is in my buddy's shop getting the front end rebuilt in time for winter duties.

My CHP Polara is probably at about 170,000
My Barracuda is probably at about 330,000

Alan

My Barracuda was my Grandparents daily driver (they only had one car) and from 1966 to 1985 they put 145,000 (about 7600 a year)
I get the Barracuda in 85 and drive upwards of 30,000 a year for 6 years. School was 30 mile round trip, work 70 mile round trip. Frequent after work Vegas runs (600 mile round trip), It is SoCal and I like to drive. I still look at my Barracuda as a fair weather driver and drive it just about everyday.

The CHP car was retired at about 75,000 and was at about 65,000 when I got it. Knowing it sat for 30 years and the knowing the family that I got it from I can honestly say it is 165,000. I have probably put 5,000 since the restoration.

Both cars do not have their original speedometers and I didn't take time to reset them to zero or match the previous one. On the Polara I made note of the miles on both at the time of the swap.

That rocks, they were made to be driven.

155,530k miles currently with a somewhat disappointing 1500 miles this season. Only about half of my average yearly miles. Probably only put a couple of hundred miles on the vert this year too.

One last trip today to a HS football playoff game and she'll be put up for winter, it was a great 1st year.

Only a year? Seems longer. You went from one to how many this year? :poke:
Four!
1972 Monaco wagon "Muskie"
1973 Imperial "Blimp"
1972 Monaco wagon "Blutah"
1972 Monaco sedan (parts car)
BULLPUCKY!!!!!
Ya'll got another week or so of driving weather before it gets yucky....
I agree, the weather isn't the problem though. I've got the extended use antique plates, which means from Nov 1st thru March 31st I can only legally use them if I'm driving to a show/parade/event.
