Wow short runners that's like a holy grail piece. No wonder it revs past 5000.
One of these is Hemmings Find of the Day today.

So you were legit and not a shill - LOL!!Hello Commando and the rest of you nuts.... I bought the ebay-listed one that was mentioned, after being the (unsuccessful) high bidder on that auction.
Welcome to the site from the Motor City, Hugh! You should head over to the welcome wagon and introduce yourself and stick around. Your new car is gorgeous and I'd like to see that '66.

sorry to highjack the thread, but here is my '66. Original interior, one repaint in a slightly more metallic take on the original color-View attachment 25920View attachment 25921View attachment 25922

Hello Commando and the rest of you nuts.... I bought the ebay-listed one that was mentioned, after being the (unsuccessful) high bidder on that auction. Called the guy and got the deal done for... somewhat more than the final bid. I expect it to arrive next week or so from CA (i live in IN). It will join my 50k-mi. '66 New Yorker (440, buckets, etc.) in the garage. I replaced a '69 ALFA GT1750, intending to find some euro coupe but the red mist decended upon me when the K came up for auction. I will have pictures and more when it gets here. The last of Exner and the first of Engle at Chrysler makes for a nice mix. Cheers-View attachment 25877
Beautiful K for sure. Guys on the Chrysler 300 Club, Inc listserve seem to know the history on this car going way back to when a Jim Patnode owned it in the 80s. One guy claims it is not an original ram car, but the single four barrel. Is this your understanding? I bring it up now in case you can still deal with the seller if he suggested otherwise and the statement on the listserve is correct (I have no knowledge personally). Does the body code plate or build sheet tell which it came with originally, if that is available? Or is there an original window sticker?
I have inquired about the rams to the seller, and will let you know what I hear. This car has documentation to the "nines", and I suspect that the original owner, a Senior Chrysler Exec, would have ordered the top spec available. However, I will believe what I can prove with the paperwork and body code plate. Not sure if the build sheet survives... I enjoy the challenge of discovery with an old car-
hugh,
if you are not supplied with the track sheet, just look under the rear seat, in the springs. it could/should be there.
