putting the new 440 in my 67 383 in the spring, built date 6-13. but already bought a new torque converter with 24 spline, been reading the 67 could have a 19 spline and if so it would be a early production date, so i guess am save ?

Everything I've ever come across says that in '67, the input shaft was 24 spline and 1966 was the last year for the 19 spline.

Really, the only positive way is to count the splines and not depend on anything you read or hear.

Your location says "Central New York". Are you in Syracuse?

am in Auburn. the 383 is still in the car so i have to wait till spring time

Never seen a factory 1967 with the early converter.
Never seen a factory 1966 with the later converter.
I worked on more than a few 727’s from 1966 and up.

slide under there and get the number from the trans case drivers side above the pan to make sure it’s the original trans. 2801543 for a 383-2bbl car.
