Well sorta. :) I thought a few of you might find this interesting as well. For many years I have heard about a huge ship that was ran up a creek during the 1937 Ohio river flood. The water receded and the ship was grounded in just a few feet of water. I saw a crude old photo, so it appeared to be a true story. Nobody knew anything else about it.

Thanks to the internet I finally found it. It turned out to be a ship that was 186' long built in 1902. Originally called the Celt, it was owned by a well off rail road executive. This ship was used by Thomas Edison & traveled to the Florida Keys & later appearing briefly in Madonna's video Pappa Don't Preach. Sold for only $7500 in 1986, the last owner piloted it from New York Harbor to it's finally resting place, a creek near Cincinnati. Grounded and rusted, it actually exists.

The glorious past of 112-year-old 'ghost ship' abandoned on Ohio River

That's pretty kool but a shame for a beautiful boat like that.

Did you read the comments after the story?

''Looks like a good spot to blaze."

There was a day when I would have agreed.
