Prolly a drag engine. It's got a mechanical injector pump on it so I doubt it's a gas engine. BUT I've been wrong before, this is what it looks like.

A truck engine? I never seen a diesel rev that high. Wow.

That motor that blew was a 94-98-ish Dodge cummins with a P7100 Power pump injection system. The motor was clearly over fueled, and over boosted, and went into what is called..."Run away". Even though you shut down the fuel and ignition, the motor is drawing so much fuel and air that it continues to run and rev, drawing more fuel and air until things go BOOM! Only way to stop run away is to shut off all the air to the turbo....piece 2x6 over the inlet will choke the motor off.

Looks like the motor had a water meth injection system, as well as NOS. Delicate balancing act to get all those system to function properly, and not have things go pop.
