What kind of store is JEGS High Performance. I ordered Rare Parts RP16150 Strut rod bushing kit 25.7. Yesterday I asked where my purchase might be, cause FedEx tracking number can't find it.
They said that they don't have this part in stock. I can't believe this. They're selling parts that they don't have. Should I ask a refund from Paypal or what ?

Jegs is good, they won't steal your money. I bet there was some notice that the part is special order or something similar. Summit will do the same thing, a friend ordered exhaust for an 80's Camaro, after six months or something my friend took a refund and got exhaust somewhere else. It happens, and they usually state it somewhere, but not always. That's why I usually call and talk to a human. Did they give you a timeline? Did you check other vendors, or rare parts themselves?

Gotta look a little closer.

Customer Support replied: "We have the part on back order with the manufacture, Rare Parts. We do not yet have an ETA to provide."

I've had really great results with Jegs!
If there's a backorder or shipping delay, they email me right away and their phone customer support is awesome.

I ahve always found Jegs a little higher priced that Summit. One exception, though, the gauge set we bought for the Gremlin; Summit didn't even offer it.

I order from Jegs too. I had the experience, that when you put shipping cost into the equation, Jegs turns out cheaper than summit.

I don't recall being charged shipping by Summit. I do know that if I order today, it's at my door tomorrow! That's great!!

I do miss that well stocked and well informed auto parts outfit down the center of town.
We still have a number of them, NAPA stores (3) as well as the standard O'Reilly's, Pep Boys, and the like. Could be where you live.

I say that but I am lucky enough to live in a town with a very decent Napa that I went to with my Dad when I was a kid and still do today. The O'Reilly's, Pep Boys, Auto Zones and such are close too but they kind of suck here.

We have a local Bumper to Bumper auto parts store here. It's old school, squeaky floors, wooden door with a thumb latch and knowledable parts guys that have been around for years. The local O'reillys is pathetic and a bunch is no minds there......

I didn't know how big your town was. Chico, as far as places in California go, is a small town at 83,000 people. When it comes to car parts, I really miss Bakersfield! Didn't think I'd ever say that, but I never had to wait for parts there as I have needed to here.

But I was in Shaver Lake, CA, for my vacation a few weeks ago. The only parts store they had is now closed. But, is that due to the Internet, or what a resident told me: the houses (cabins?) are being purchased by people who don't live there? Makes it very tough for small businesses, who rely on the locals, to stay open. The Hardware store was closed too; it was open when we were there four years ago.

Sadly when you have to order parts from napa in person you now uave to pay for shipping if the part is out of state. I normally hit up the store that's closest to the warehouse. Or the warehouse store

I buy a lot of stuff from NAPA, but I have a long time friend that works there that knows his stuff. The local Advance Auto is OK, but only because the folks there actually try to help. They don't know much, but at least they try. I can work with that.

I gave up on Auto Zone... Idiots with bad customer service.

But to the OP, Jegs has always been good to buy from. Everything arrives when it is supposed to etc.

I've been buying stuff from Amazon Prime. Usually get it pretty fast and the price is usually inline with everybody else. Like everything else, you have to do a little homework and check part numbers and shop for price, but it has worked out well for me.

The best news is the return policy. I bought a PowerMaster alternator through Amazon. When I bolted it on, it sounded awful... It obviously had a bad front bearing. I read the warranty from PowerMaster and they said to call them first before returning to the vendor. So I did.... Had to leave a message. I waited until the end of the business day for them to get back to me (they never did) and I decided to just return it as defective through Amazon.

No questions asked, got a UPS return label and had my money back a day after I shipped it back.
