1969 Bob. A great summer. I returned from Viet Nam in March. Ordered my A12 Runner in March. Picked up a brand new Super Bee and converted it to a race car in Wally's garage. All the east coast NHRA nationals and a bunch of testing with the Chrysler guys at Detroit dragway, (long gone now). Never be able to repeat that one.

Did you ever get to Great Lakes Dragway? Union Grove, Wisconsin.

    Thanks for your service Will!

I know 1968-1969 was terrible years over there!

    Neat!

They did a very good job of reproducing the details of the real car.

We pretty much traveled the mid west and N/SE Bob. NHRA national events. We had the use of a new 69 Polara wagon in matching green as a tow car.

No Matt. I haven't bought one. It's cool but is just another Chinese POS to collect dust. Maybe if I see a cheap one.

We ran in SS/E class and I remember going 10.99. "This was with a street hemi", which was under the record at the time. It was a long time ago and I don't remember specific speeds. Lowering ET's was the goal.
A cool commentary. We were experiencing axle hop off the line and into 2nd. My brother came up with shimming the rear pinion snubber with washers to 1/2" of the floor pan. Good for almost three tenths off the ET. Word got out and next thing everyone was doing it. After that Gratiot Auto Supply had modified snubbers on the shelf. My brother was kicking himself for not copy righting the idea.
Another "trick" was reaming the front sway bar bushings so there was no resistance on the sway bar. Improved front lift.

Were all ole guys now. I just took all this for granted back in the day. Now I've forgotten more than I know.
