One of the water pipes broke on the way to meet old age cars over a week ago. Imperial on a tow truck drove away to the workshop. After a few days the car was ready. Other things were also repaired. The car has undergone a technical inspection to register it as a historical vehicle.

I dig the interior, the power accessories and & instrument panel !

Some time ago I posted photos of the imperial next to which the first owner is standing. The photo shows the first license plate.
I asked the family we bought the Imperial from if they had this license plate. At the beginning of May, I receive @ with the information: I found !!!!.
Something fabulous. The test board is shipped from California to Poland. After so many years, he will join the car!!!!!
The documents attached to the car contain a registration document from 1973.

now THIS is a good story........ you have the plate AND original registration with it - you don't see THAT very often......

At the beginning of April the car went for repairs to "MidPoint service" -->> MidPoint service

removed engine - seal leaks;
gearbox removed - seal leaks;
new aluminum radiator made to order in Poland;
new heater core (heating hot and cool air works, it was only luck to turn on the air-conditioning, but that's next year) ;
rear window electrics repaired;

I hope that in this course there will be no failures and returns on the tow truck :). A new season of trips and meetings with vintage cars is ahead of us. We have plans to go on further trips to Poland.

Beautiful car and story. Glad I came upon this post. Great setting for a car show!

I bought a cassette adapter.
This gives you more opportunities to play old music.
In Poland, traditional cassettes are more easily available than 8 track cadrige

There was a problem with the interior lighting.
The lights did not go out.
I had to disconnect the battery at stops.
The fault was repaired in MidPoint service

What was the cause of lights staying on?

There was a short circuit in the arrangement of small round lamps in the poles near the rear window. A short-circuit / closure of the power circuit will cause the switches of the rear "DOME" lamps. The switches have been disconnected. I have to take them apart and clean the electrical contacts.

My Imperial appeared in one of the most important Polish newspapers devoted to vintage cars - Classicauto

Classicauto - magazyn prawdziwych samochodów

The article presents the history of our car, a family with Polish roots and information about the car.
It is a great honor to be published in this newspaper.
It's a fantastic adventure.

Below I am pasting photos of the original article in Polish and
Article translated thanks to Google Images Translate.

It's not a super accurate translation, but it allows you to read the article

I'm also attaching a few photos from the photo session - backstage :)

I am also pasting the original message (one of many I received from the first owner's son)

"Maciej,

Here is what I have found about my fathers (William) career at Chrysler Corporation. My father and mother moved from Northern Michigan (in the upper peninsula) down to the Detroit area because of the growth of the automobile industry. They moved when William was 20 years old. He started his career at Chrysler in late 1943 at the Jefferson Assembly Plant working in the Body Department where the body of the car is welded together. This area of the plant was called "Body in White". After a few years he was promoted into management as a Line Foreman. Then he was promoted to Superintendent over the final production area of the plant.
He retired from Chrysler in late 1985 after 42 years of service at the Jefferson Assembly Plant.
When your 1973 Imperial was built, William was allowed to follow it's progress from the "Body in White" Department through the "Paint Department" and through the entire assembly line. After many years of watching thousands of Imperials being built it was time for him the watch his dream car being built from the ground up and then drive it off of the assembly line. I hope that this brief work history of William Borowski is what you are looking for and can be used in the newspaper for the article on the 1973 Imperial. Also, so that you know, all of the "Pin-striping" that is on your Imperial was hand installed by William. He was a Pin-striping expert and it was amazing to watch him pin stripe a car."
