The Nature Boy is right. These cars have unpainted inner-panels. If any salt got on my car, I would treat it as a code-red emergency.

true and I don't drive through salt either unless I have a already badly rusted out winter barge.

I had to drive twice in my life though salt with a real good car (58 300 D and 71 challenger RT). When the salt was gone from the road I took it to a car wash and cleaned it up from the underside with a pressure washer, too

I wouldn't of drove it in the salt either. We do corrosion tests at the Proving Ground. We can do a 22 year accelerated corrosion test in 277 days. We have vehicles that literally fall apart before the test ends.
