I've been getting $350 for 440 blocks with forged cranks. Nobody that wanted the blocks were interested in heads or anything else for that matter so I went ala cart for everything else. It took quite a while to sell the 383s and I was only asking $200. I think I ended up getting $150 each without heads again.

Six years ago I sold a non running 1971 383, trans and 8 3/4 for 500... He was the only guy that wanted it

Apparently there is a big spread from ask & sold. I was surprised at how many 440 engines, from motor homes, that I ran across when I was looking.

I sold a 69 E series 440 HP short block, heads & intake with matching 727 for $1500.00 a year ago.

Wow! I have the 69 E series 440 non-HP, I think I would sell it if I could get half that much. I had been looking for a 1970 replacement for the past few months, but there are not too many pre-1974 440 motors out there. Captin, you might want to list the casting dates, it would probably help with the valuation.

I paid $800 for a complete 72 steel crank 440 & trans. I'm sure there is always better deals, but at the time I was as happy, as...... these girls. :)

Funniest? As in Funniest how the guy in the boat banged the most beautiful women on earth while drinking the purest Vodka and doing the most primo drugs. And making more money than God at the same time?
