My New Obsession

Regarding your fender/hood mount turn signals, here's an exploded view of one of mine. Not sure if '65 Chrysler is the same as my '66 Plymouth. I was able to save both of mine using some WD40, heat, and patience (oh, and vice grips). The lens on mine has a metal insert that has threads poking out of the plastic to which the socket threads onto. The small bulbs are still available online (#330).

Wow, that car is more loaded than my Imperial!

Here are a couple pictures of the seat I have.
Rear seat still has the cover, front needs some work.

THanksfor sending this but it is making me wonder... does the whole thing need to come off, or can i just unscrew the power cable and find the bulb?

The socket/wire is supposed to screw off without removing the entire assembly but on mine, the sockets were rusted tight and the bulbs were also rusted in, so it was easier for me to have the whole thing off the car. You might be able to get yours apart without removing the whole assembly but I wasn't able to with mine.

Most times, it's easier and safer overall to remove the entire the entire lamp assembly, toss the whole thing into a jar of pure lemon juice for a day, and have it sparkling clean when you take it out.
I use lemon juice (works better than vinegar) for small parts.

Took my first trip around the block this morning. I know you northern guys are putting your cars away for the winter but down here it's perfect weather to be outside enjoying these cruisers. The exhaust has been removed so she was quite angry sounding, but stayed off of the main roads and ran out of gas within coasting distance of my own driveway (Whew!)
p.s. my hood turn signal assembly is different that pictured above, unless my fingertips are lying to me.

Yours should be like this. This is one of my spares. The socket just slides in and is held in by small fingers on the socket.

:eek:s_dancing2:Now that you have driven it how does it run? It has nice body lines. Good luck on your great find.

she did ok tranny is smooth, brakes need bleeding but OK, having a fuel delivery issue, I may just run all new fuel lines from the tank.

Just an update everyone,
I did a complete brake rebuild on her, Everything from the Master Cylinder Down. it was a long 14 hour day under the car. and in the process of pulling the hubs we actually broke a Drum!!!! but she is driving great now. She is a very happy camper, even driving her to work a couple of time a week now (40 miles round trip). Everyone in my office wants to go for rides, this car is so much fun.

I noticed a WP Chrysler club front plate. Is that something you added or was it on the car? Kind of extra sad to think this might have been somebody's pride and joy that almost went to the crusher.

Thanks for the update. I broke a drum too when I did a complete brake job on mine. The amazing thing is I had the other 3 drums turned and they were still thicker than the new one I bought.

It was on it when I got it, a past owner was the president of the club. Though I don't think this was his pride and joy... He also had a convertible. I just thought it was too cool to remove yet.
