My Summer Vacation, 2017... Junkyard Hunting, Family and Carlisle.

Had he given more advanced notice, but noooo. He just departs before sunrise without warning.
And on that note... It has been kinda busy, but also relaxing so far. Every time I try to sit down to write here... either something else comes up or I'm just too tired.

Left on the train Wednesday, arrived in VA Thursday, train was a little behind schedule and then I was one of the last cars off. No sooner did I climb in, and the Imperial ran out of gas. Took a few minutes to diagnose, the car showed half a tank or more. Waited for AAA for a long time... seems they found the one other person with my same name in the entire universe (a cousin), but had trouble figuring out who I was.

Turns out the Imperial was only down something like 7-8 gallons, I topped it with 5 after AAA's gas...so I suspect a pickup problem. She didn't run quite as well as before either. Put her in storage in Harrisburg and grabbed the rental.... Thursday done.

Spent most of Friday junkyard hunting, on my way in I saw this and thought of @amazinblue82 ... not a PD4501, but cool none the less.

Yon know... even exposed to the elements... mouse fur does hold up better than leather.

There is a 70 polara convertible in a PA yard. I've been trying to locate the yard ever since I saw the picture of it 17 years ago. I was hoping this was the yard

Win... I found an Imperial (1974)... I picked a few pieces from this one, but there wasn't much left.

By now it was almost closing time and the camera died a few pics later too. This end of the yard was more over grown, but there were places here I couldn't even get into last year. If time permits... I might come back to finish. I took my time and found a few things... but no camera power for my "winnings". Coming soon(ish).

I knew my mission... I tried to be much more thorough than last year... It could still be in the part I didn't get to, I have a suspicion the yard workers may try to stash stuff when they bury in certain areas. It was a little swampy in places, but not too bad overall.

Friday evening, on the way to the Edgewater... I passed these on rt22. They were my mission Saturday am.

While I was standing by the rental trying to get an address off of my phone for the place... a guy pulled in, he wasn't the owner... but assured me there was a stack of phone numbers from those who tried to buy them before, and that they were not for sale. At least I had permission to take better pictures than I started off with.
