Just picked up a 65 Sport Fury a couple of weeks ago to flip. Its a pretty rough but mechanically sound big block factory four speed car. I bought it on a Friday, tightened the shifter handle, swapped out the rims and tires, and drove it the 15 Miles to the Super Chevy show. No bites.

Drive it home the following Sunday and fell in love. Scary, as the steering wheel had a crapload of brittle plastic. Sharp and moves a lot. Character.
Hauls *** for a 17 foot long car. I measured it. 17 on the nose.

So, it is third in line. Doing a 70 LS5 4 speed Chevelle, finishing the 442, then the "Dodge" as my wife calls it, will get a driver type cleanup. Already bought a tilt column. I am 6'7", some things are required. Adding power steering and brakes. Even in the summer heat, no ac means ju,ping in my 2014 ZL1 Camaro if cool temps are required.

She calls it the Dodge and its a Plymouth sport Fury? :welcome:

What can I say, she's a chick.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Nice story, kool car!

Welcome! That Sport Fury brings back some really great memories. I had 3 different '64 Sport Fury's growing up. My friends could not understand why I liked "those old Plymouths". Why didn't I get a TransAM or Cam....... Cant seem to make myself finish that last word. I get so tired or all the belly button cam...'s. So now that I am older I am not weird any more just kinda of Kookie for liking those old Chryslers. In any case great car especially the 4-speed!!! I just remembered how light the back-ends on those car's are....watch those slick roads, don't ask me how I know.

Welcome aboard from one 65 Sport Fury owner to another. gotta love a big block and a 4 speed.
