O gauge Trains

Very cool! Any whole layout pics?

Not sure if you can view this album or not, but here are pictures taken before I moved almost two years ago. Originally the layout was in an attic storage room. When these pictures were taken, I moved it to two spare bedrooms and put holes in the wall to connect them. Now I'm rebuilding the layout in the basement of my new house.
As you can see from the photos, I never quite finished the layout before moving it again. And you can see I am more into the scenery, then having lots of track.

Model Railroaders are like car guys in the respect that, it's never done. Even when finished, most people still go back and change things and keep it fresh.

I always loved it when I was runnin trains, and the dog would put his wet nose on the center rail and catch a buzz from it. It would piss the dog off all the time. The dog never learned not to do that, fun memories!

I'm into O myself, you need a big house for a layout!

Nice looking trains there. I never thought of storing them on top of the car:) I got my Super Chief set out this Christmas for the first time in 15 or so years. On the floor but I figured what the heck. Disregard the daughters barbies...

Could almost have a layout on a C body! lol

I’ve always been into O as well. HO, and smaller is neat, but as mentioned seems bigger is better for me lol. No doubt do they take up some room though!

Nothing like a train at christmas time. Specially running around a tree. My smaller lionel in the middle is the only one that has come out regularly every year for the xmas tree. The other ones are a tad too pricey for me to have on the floor with the dogs, and foot traffic... lol

Did order some more goodies on ebay for the layout today. Got a train station setup coming, and some other little accessories.

Also put a new battery in the P.A. Steamer. She still goes luckily. They are a pain to get going. Cant have any other draw on the track until they are locked out of neutral. Once its locked out, then I can put the passenger cars on the track behind it.

Zac, and anyone else that may be interested, check out this forum. Tons of info, I joined when I was looking into my sets, kinda the FCBO of O gauge trains

Looks like a good bit is unboxed, and up! lol any more glamour shots??
Most are old pics, but I have been working on uncovering the layout I have been working on the past decade. I spend most of my “train” time setting up the Christmas display at the church.

Some of the basement:

A set like this with a simple circle track from Marx in the original cardboard box I should still have as well somewhere downstairs. Was a present from our American relatives arond 1973 I guess.

I know there are a couple other model train buffs on here. Thought some of you might enjoy these.

I havn’t had room to have the trains out in many years. They have been boxed up in a closet waiting to come out again someday. Moving into the new place has given me a place to play with them, in the sunroom.

Bought some lumber, and got a table built. Also went out and treated myself to some train goodies this week. Its nice having them out again.

It all started with the old lionel starter set in the middle. It escalated from there pretty quickly lol.

real nice score chief. great set. my childhood regret -- one of them i can remember anyway -- was not getting more into trains. always loved em though.

great stories from you other folks who were/still into trains -- i envy you. :)

I DO still have my "train book" (example pictured, not my actual book which is a little beat up now) -- earliest memory of it is early 60's. a "Whitman" book .. my pre-school window to the world.

It's been a few X-mas ago since I last had mine out. Because the car was in hibernation for the winter, I figured why not use it as a train yard, and thought.

Been having some train goodies trickling in the last week. The people of the town have some good taste in cars lol.

Still waiting on a couple other pieces to come in. I pulled the front table out, and started putting everything in place on the back table.

Pretty happy how the roads are turning out. Just construction paper, sprayed with some rustoleum speckled paint. Went over em with some paint markers for the lines.

Great work Zack! We were spending some time in Frederick MD with friends yesterday, and we went to see a small display at the center of town.
