Re-use these drums?

I shoulda went with your post CBARGE. I was convinced the 3" shoes were right, but after installing them, the drum would not install right...the cotter pin couldn't set, because the drum wouldn't set inward far enough. So, tomorrow I'll get the 2 3/4 shoes on and I suspect that will solve the problem.
After 35+ years of working on classic cars, this brake job has proved to be one of the more challenging. But all new brake lines are installed, just waiting on a new master cylinder.
QUESTION: the gents on the Riviera site advise that with all new components, I should switch to DOT 5 brake fluid, as it is less perishable and less prone to moisture absorption. What say ye? Rich in Tampa
