Found this rust hardship case on my search for rust removal methods...

local Sheriff's department called the boss the other day. A landowner found a car in their pond last Saturday. If we help get it out and there is no foul play or stolen records on it, we can have it.

They have owned the land since '70 and believe that the car must have been there before they bought the place.

Today he got the call. They found nothing around the car to make it a crime scene and they are practice diving with it - come and get it. So when we get there they are messing with a new video system and we see a red Porsche 356 in the mucky bottom. A little while later, the divers come for cables and instructions on what to tie to. A few tries, and the car starts its ride to the edge.

Things are not looking so good as it gets further out of the water. It started breaking up as it came up onto shore.

We got it back to the yard and found that the car was a bit rough when it went in the drink. A bit of bondo was used to cover up the rockers and some accident work in the rear. Tomorrow we will start the search for a serial number.

Anyone looking for a project?

Poor car!

What a waste. The aluminum brake drums are worth a pile if salvageable, maybe an engine case.

Ouch! What's the story there? Stolen, joy ride then dispose of the evidence?

These rusted real bad, bet it was in his last grasp anyways prior to sinking it into the pond. Unless it was a Carrera model which doesn't seem so the VIN won't even be desireable.

The way Porsche projects have been bringing absolutely stupid money these days, I'd throw it on that auction site with the usual comments - "ran when parked", "covered parking all its life", "barn (pond) find", etc.

Bullshit. Except for Whitey Bulger, Im as a true and typical Bostonian as they come. Never, ever was the term "A Southie" used locally. Used by an uninformed outsider to sound like they're smart.
Worse than saying Sports Fury 111.
A "Townie" was always from Charlestown but no other Boston neighborhood used such terminology.
BTW, I'm not from Southie (that's the correct terminology) and the Quincy Quarries are not in Boston. You see clearly through cheap glasses. How would my coming from
Southie explain everything?
