So heres a better intro. This project is a 66 chrysler new yorker. Happened to be on a parts run and spotted it on the side of the road. The back story is sellers father bought it from the original owner in 78 and stuck it in his barn. Never titled it. The title is still in original owners name from 1967 when purchased. Sellers father passed away and he took the cars to get running and sell. He got it running but barely. My father in law had been looking for a car so i sent him pictures and he said hed buy it. I picked it up and he got back from vacation and approved of the purchase. My mother in law not so much. She said it wasnt cool. So it sat for a few months and he fiddled with it. New shocks, Plugs, wires, and a rebuild of the old carter. Took it for a spin and said it wouldnt even do a burnout so he pulled the motor out....then he decided he really wants a roadrunner. So now the newyorker is mine. Either i buy it or trade him my belvedere. He just knows i really like the new yorker so someway or anotger its mine, and he is searching for a rr. So now i have a newyorker with a engine on the stand in pieces and a transmission on the shelf. These are the pictures i took last summer to send to him. Ive been aquiring some parts ill post on in a bit.

A little more back story. Im 26 with 2 daughters. They love the belvedere. Appropriately named "marshmallow" about 5 years ago i built a 79 dodge w200 and had a 440 in it. Kids came and the truck left. So now we have the belvedere. Slant 6 3spd. My wife much preferes the new yorker and i prefer the 440. So i know what im getting into here and plan to improve what i did with the truck. Heres a couple pics of the old truck and motor( it got fully painted after assembly) and marshmallow

Good stuff, you're in!

Back to the project at hand here. The original 14" wheels were lomg gone and the seller tossed these sweet riviera hub caps on. I cant really invision a wheel i love for this car. The chrome 18s and 20s isnt our style but neither is steelies. So i found these slots at the swap meet with beauty rings and chrysler corp caps. The wheels are currently at powdercoat getting matched to body color. Anyone know the story on these wheels? Factory on something. They are 15x7. The wheels will be the only exterior modification as long as air cleaner fits... interior is excellent aside from dirty carpet with a couple wear spots that will be replaced once its driveable. Only modification inside will be a tci outlaw shifter.

Engine will get full rebuild retaining stock crank. New rods, pistons,440 source heads, performer rpm intake, 850 double pumper, tti headers, and the obvious double roller, oil pump, fuel pump, and a cam that ill need help specing out. Transmission will be reverse manual valve body, bolt in sprag, convertor, and what ever else my trans guy says to do.
Then on to another part i need help with...gear ratio 3.55 or 3.91? I want to be able to cruise on the highway without over working the engine too much. But more emphasis on blowing tires off and beating up on mustangs Heres a few more parts acquisitions and the wheels before powdercoat. A couple images wont load of intake and carb ill work on that.

Not a fan of 3.55 with today's highway speed. Back when I was 26 the speed limit was 55 those big gears where okay but now running 65 getting passed by Prius's is not acceptable. You already out class the Mustang so let them go. Nothing wrong with fast but I'm not giving up 70-75 mph for a1/4 of a tenth.

Hell I put a fresh 3.23 in my Challenger and I almost wish I had the 2.76 ratio back that was in it. The 2.94 in my Imp is perfect.
