This road should be on everybodys bucket list. I have traveled end to end 6/7 times. My standard route to Carlisle is to pick up the parkway N of Ashville NC and travel to Front Royal Va. Have done that the past 10 years. I allow at least 2 days for that trip, 2/3 days end to end. There are nice camp grounds along the entire route and decent motels off the major cross roads. Be sure your brakes are in order....LOL.

It’s hard to believe that 9 years has slipped by since we last travelled the Skyline/Blue Ridge on our Goldwing.

These tunnels were always a challenge entering sheer darkness on the Wing until the eyes adjusted then back into blinding daylight
